BEHAVIOUR ASSESSMENT for ORGANIZATIONS
with THE PODUVAL’S PERSONAL EFFICACY TEST (PPET)
-
Don’t you come across employees who were very impressive during the selection process but do not rise to your expectations when it comes to delivering at work? The PPET can assess and report the behaviour traits of the candidate before you take the selection decision. It is one of the most powerful yet practical psychometric behaviour assessments in India today. It has been developed with over 30 years of research by Prof. P R Poduval, former Director of the School of Management Studies, CUSAT and tested for validity for individuals from all over India.
- What is the Poduval’s Personal Efficacy Test (PPET)?
The PPET is an online psychometric test. A psychometric test is a measurement-based objective test of psychological dispositions.
- What is personal efficacy?
Personal efficacy is the power or ability to produce the desired results, especially by behaviour under unstructured or unfamiliar situations. Higher level of personal efficacy indicates the potential for higher effectiveness and higher efficiency in dealing with tasks, problems, situations and people.
-
What is the result that the Poduval’s Personal Efficacy Test delivers?
The PPET gives an assessment of the candidate using a standardized test, i.e., by interpreting the test scores with reference to his or her relative position in a comparable population. The interpretation is in terms of five grades: superior, above average, average, below average and poor.
- How can the PPET be of help to an organization?
The three applications of PPET in an organization are
a) During the selection process as an objective tool to assess the behaviour traits of the candidate
b) For identifying behaviour training needs of existing employees and
c) For behaviour assessment of existing employees during internal promotion decisions.
- What is special about the PPET?
a) The predictive power of the PPET is very high because of the reliability and validity of the instrument
b) The PPET has been standardized for interpretation in the Indian context unlike most ‘imported’ tests
c) Wilful attempts to manipulate the PPET results are identified and rejected. There are built-in devices in the PPET that will identify such attempts.
d) The PPET can be attempted online anonymously and is totally objective; Transforminds gathers no identifiable information from the respondent.
- Points to note:
a) The PPET is an assessment of the respondent’s POTENTIAL for performance from a behaviour perspective and not an assessment of the willingness or motivation to perform.
b) The PPET cannot replace the selection process in an organization but can report on the behaviour aspects alone. The final decision regarding selection rests with the employer after considering all aspects related to the position.
